Tis The Season To Sparkle - Essentials By Ellen Holiday 2016 Release Blog Hop

Hi everyone!  Thanks for stopping by today.  Today my blog is jam packed with inspiration, projects, two new video tutorials and a giveaway...all featuring the newest Essentials By Ellen Holiday 2016 Release.

These projects are a part of a blog hop celebrating this awesome new release.  So be sure to start at the Ellen Hutson CLASSroom blog to follow the hop from the beginning.  You don't want to miss even a little bit of this hop!  You might be coming to me from Keeway Tsao's blog.  If you are, you're on the right track.

I have several projects to share with you...so let's get to it.

This card features the Season To Sparkle stamp set and coordinating dies.  This stamp set is full of fun, faceted images.  I think the deer is my favorite.

I heat embossed the deer on some real wood paper and cut him out using the coordinating die set.  I used a Versamark pen to make some of the facets on the deer darker than others.  It was a fun way to add different varieties of wood tones without taking away from the beauty of the wood.

This "Tis The Season To Sparkle" sentiment is right up my alley.  It just speaks to my core.  HA HA! I had to use it.  I added some sparkly embellishments, some gems and a bit of glitter card stock (of course), to make sure the card had just enough sparkle.

I have included a video tutorial below walking you through the creation of this card.  Be sure to check it out.

This card also features the Season To Sparkle stamp set.  I used the circle shape in this stamp set to create some beautiful ornaments.

I heat embossed the ornaments on some vellum (the Essentials By Ellen vellum is my favorite) using some Wow Metallic Gold Sparkle embossing powder.  I also added some Spectrum Noir clear overlay to the font side of these ornaments.  I colored the back side of the ornaments using Copic markers.

I love the non-traditional color scheme here.  The rich jewel tones still give it a wonderful holiday feel without using the traditional reds and greens.

I've also included a video tutorial walking you through this card below.  I hope you'll check that one out too!

This card is very similar to the one before it.  Instead of using vellum for my ornaments, I used watercolor card stock.  I used my Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens to add lots of sparkly watercolor to the ornaments.

Any card that says "Tis The Season To Sparkle" should have plenty of sparkle on it.  This card doesn't disappoint.  Between the sequins, the gold glitter card stock, and the Spectrum Noir sparkle pens, there's lots of sparkle and shine....perfect for the Holidays!

Just like I did on the previous card, I used a pine bough stamp to second generation stamp the background to add color and texture.  This creates an "out of focus" look on the background.  I love the soft boughs in the background that really allow the ornaments to shine and have a grounding place.

My last two cards are very similar.  I've used the Believe die to create a couple of cards with nods to some of the most famous Christmas characters.  For this first card, I also used the Antlers die to cut some antlers from real wood paper.  The red gem below the word believe is my "very shiny nose".

To add dimension to this die cut, and really make it  focal point on the card, I stacked several die cuts on top of each other.  This gives this delicate die cut some weight.  I also covered the top of the die cut with some Christmas Red Stickles.  Once the Stickles were dry, I added a layer of Glossy Accents to really make the glitter pop.

Just like before, I wanted to create a card with a nod to Santa.  I used the Fat Pants stamp set to stamp Santa's hat and beard on the card front.  There are so many great images in the Fat Pants stamp set.  I can't wait to play with it more!

The "Tis The Season" greeting came from the Season To Sparkle stamp set.  I partially inked the sentiment in order to get just the "Tis The Season To" portion.

So there you have it!  LOTS of inspiration using fabulous new stamps and dies from EllenHutson.com

I've linked all of these supplies below.  And don't forget, I've also created a couple of video tutorials for your viewing pleasure today.
