Just Saying Hello Card

Hi everyone!  I told you I'd be back soon with another post.  As I mentioned in my last post, I am participating in the Online Card Classes Summer Card Camp.  Yesterday I posted a video on Week 1's card creation.  Today I have my card for Week 2's color challenge.

I have to say, this week's color challenge was definitely a bit more challenging.  And I try to have a nod to both Kristina's and Jennifer's cards in my own card.  I think I was designing this in my sleep last night.  My husband said I was restless all night....a very unusual thing for me.

This card features stamps from Hero Arts (Flower Pattern Cling Stamp) and Basic Grey's Sweet Threads Labels stamp set.  I also used paper (the green gingham) from My Mind's Eye Lime Twist (Out of the Blue) collection.

Believe it or not, this card started out as one of Kristina's sketches...and then evolved into a little different version.  My nod to Jennifer's card this week is in the white embossing.  I know...not exactly what she taught....but it's a nod, not a replica. :)  And since I just picked up my sewing machine from the shop this week and haven't had the opportunity to test it out yet, I added some machine stitching to my card.  The machine works like a dream now!
