Just For Fun --- Kimono Marci Birthday
I had a spare moment to create this morning…just for fun…while I was still in my jammies. I had an image that I had watercolored last night and I quickly cut it out and added some strips of paper to make a birthday card for a very special friend.
I used my new Gansai Tambi watercolors. {I bought them after seeing Jennifer McGuire's review.} I really love them because they are so pigmented and vibrant. The color saturation is just fabulous. And if you want a more muted look, you can just add more water.
I've had this little Kimono Marci stamp in my collection for a while now and I have yet to use her on a card. {Isn't she the cutest?} I've been so intimidated by coloring…but I'm completely over it. As I begin to play with coloring more and more, I'm finding it very therapeutic and relaxing.
To create her very light skin tone, I did a little color mixing. I used a straw colored yellow and a bit of pink and a lot of water. She's got the perfect porcelain skin.
I also used the Handwritten Borders sentiments from Simon Says Stamp to create my greeting. Another supply that I've had in my stash and hasn't yet seen the light of day. You'll noticed I changed the orientation of the tail of the sentiment. I did that by selectively inking my stamp and stamping twice.
I added a little Wink Of Stella Clear Glitter to the trim of her robe and her umbrella to give her a little sparkle. So much fun!
