Essentials By Ellen Holiday 2015 Release Blog Hop & A GIVEAWAY
Hey everyone! Thanks for stopping by for the Essentials By Ellen Holiday 2015 Release Blog Hop! If you know anything about me, you know that I LOVE the holidays. And when I saw the new Essentials By Ellen 2015 Holiday Release from Ellen Hutson, I fell head over heels in love with Christmas all over again!
If you're just starting the hop here, make sure you head to The CLASSroom blog to start the hop from the beginning. There will be lots of giveaways along the entire hop and a grand giveaway over in The CLASSroom.
Here's a look at the cards I've created for today's hop featuring several of the fabulous new stamps and die sets released today. I have not one, but TWO video tutorials below, walking you through a couple of these projects. And remember, these stamps and dies are available exclusively at Ellen Hutson.
We'll start with Halloween. I used the Got Candy? stamp set to create this fun Halloween card. And since there are coordinating dies with every stamp set in this release, I didn't have to fussy cut that adorable ghost out (or those teeny tiny candies from the Elf'd Stamp Set). I have a video tutorial below walking you through this card.
I decided the teeny tiny candies from the Elf'd stamp set would be the perfect accent to this card. I colored them using Copic markers (supplies linked below) and cut them out using the coordinating dies. It's fun to mix and match these stamps sets. I think you'll find it's very easy to do. I added some coordinating sequins to add a little sparkle to the sprinkling of candy.
I created this card using the Mistletoe And Holly Stamp Set and coordinating die set. I LOVE how this card turned out. I stamped and die cut several of the mistletoe branches to create my wreath. I added them with foam adhesive to give this card a lot of dimension. I love how full this wreath feels when you hold this card in your hand. The stamping on the base of the card, paired with the die cut pieces, gives this wreath a very full and lush look.
The Be Merry sentiment is to die for. It is also a part of the Mistletoe and Holly stamp set. I gold heat embossed it within the wreath. The sentiments in this stamp set are just beautiful. I love the curly details.
Finally, I created this gift tag using the Mondo Poinsettia Stamp Set and coordinating die set. I gold heat embossed the gorgeous poinsettia and then used watercolors to paint it. I love the deep, bold red that I was able to achieve with my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors.
To add dimension, I layered two of the poinsettias on top of each other. I also gently curled the petals of the flowers to make the flower really come alive. This elegant tag is sure to dress up even the plainest of gifts.
