Easy DIY Watercolor Landscape Cards Featuring Abstract Mountain Die
Today I'm sharing three watercolor landscape cards that anyone can create! I'm not an expert watercolorist by any means! But I was able to create these easy cards that make me look like a pro!
To create these paper pieced die cut backgrounds I'm using the new Essentials By Ellen Abstract Mountain Die. This is one of two new background dies available in the June 2021 Essentials By Ellen release from EllenHutson.com. These dies create all the pieces needed to create an abstract mountain scene, or an abstract sunset theme. They would pair great with the new Good Day stamps and dies and the new Essential Arches as well!
I chose to use my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors and mix some custom paint colors based on a color palette I had chosen using my inks. I'll list the color numbers that I used to create each color below. But keep in mind, color mixing isn't alway an exact science.
I'll walk you through the creation of these cards in today's video tutorial, and show you some fun ways to add dimension to various layers of the die cut background. Be sure to check it out.
