Bring On The Cake Mini Window Card
There’s nothing I love more than an interactive card. I think they’re so much fun to give! I knew the new Mini Windows Die Set from Ellen Hutson would be the perfect way to add an interactive element to cards.
I used vellum to create my card front. I figured it would be fun to be able to see that adorable water colored cake sitting behind the window. I also added some gold stitching around the window. Both of these features draw attention to that adorable window on the front of the card…and tell the recipient to “LOOK HERE!”
I used some Tim Holtz Mini Distress Ink Cubes to watercolor my image. I used Worn Lipstick, Mustard Seed, Peacock Feathers and Dried Marigold to create a colorful cake. I used a brown Copic marker to color the middle layers of the cake prior to water coloring the image. . (I don’t like chocolate anything…but I figured I’m the oddball of the world…so most people would probably enjoy a gorgeous chocolate layer cake for their birthday.) The Copic marker is waterproof, so I didn’t have to worry about it smearing when I added water to the image. I also added some clear Wink Of Stella to the cake to make it extra yummy.
