Back To School Goodies

It's official. I have survived my first week back at school. But next week is when it will really kick into high gear. Surprisingly enough, I am taking it all in stride this semester and seem to be relatively relaxed for being in nursing school.

I wanted to share some projects that I made for some teacher friends of mine.  They returned to school this week as well, and I wanted to give them something to make them feel special and to start the school year out on a happy note. I used each of their favorite colors. I also used the new owl punch for Breanne's gift set, because she loves owls. I know you've seen me use these tins before. They were such a great deal and make such a great holder for goodies.

In each tin, there are two pens. One has black ink and the other has red (for grading papers). There are five large paper clips that have been jazzed up and one mega paper clip that has been jazzed up. There are also two bookmarks, a journal and a Post-it note holder. It's all just a lot of fun stuff that I know they will find useful throughout the school year...and will look cute on their desk too!

For the owl set, I used So Saffron Designer Series Paper, Basic Gray, Blushing Bride and So Saffron Card Stock.  I also used some Pear Pizzazz for the stems that the owls sit on.  The stem is cut from the Bird punch.  The larger owls were cut on my Cricut using the Create a Critter Cartridge.

The Butterflies are from the Beautiful Wings embosslit folder and also from the Beautiful Butterflies Sizzix die.  I used Rich Razzleberry Designer Series Paper, along with Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry and Elegant Eggplant Card Stock.  I added some glitter to the butterflies along the embossing to really make them sparkle.

I used the Scallop Circle Punch and the XL Scallop Circle Punch for both sets.  I embossed the circles with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  It really added some much needed texture.  The circles are attached to the paper clips using glue dots.  It really seems like you can do just about anything with glue dots!

In order to make the paper clips stand up in the tin, I used a small block of floral foam.  I just stuck them right in.  You can see the foam in the picture on the right.

I hope you enjoyed these projects.  I had a lot of fun making them...and giving them.  Sometimes, the giving part is just as fun as the making part.  I know some of you out there know what I am talking about.  Maybe you want to give a special teacher a little back to school gift.  It would be fun to take it to their Back To School Night events.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!  I will be up early in the morning to get in another run this week.  I am training for a 10K and it's hard to run on school days...so Saturday has now become a running day.  Enjoy your day!
