10K Day
Hello everyone. Today was the big day! I have been training for this race for a few months. I am not really a runner. My friend Breanne convinced me to challenge myself by running in the Kingsburg Harvest Fair 10K with her. Now that it's over, I can truly say that I am so glad I did it.
We had three goals for this race.
1. To finish.
2. To run the entire distance...no walking.
3. To not be the very last people to cross the finish line.
Guess what! We accomplished all of our goals. There's nothing better than challenging yourself, setting some goals and reaching them in the end!
I was so glad that I had Breanne by my side the entire time. It makes all the difference in the world to have a friend by your side, encouraging you the entire way. And I was thrilled that my husband was waiting for me at the finish line, video camera and still camera in hand. He even hugged me when I was drenched in sweat.
Here is a little video I put together of the finish of our race. Keep in mind, we had just ran 6.2 miles. No making fun of the awful picture at the end. And yes...that old man beat us!
