Hey Girl - More From Studio Calico's Galileo Release

Hi everyone!  I'm back as promised to share another card featuring some of the new products from Studio Calico's June release.  I'm LOVING this Hey Girl stamp set which was designed by Mama Elephant for Studio Calico.  There are a few big bold script sentiments and lots of little add on sentiments to make the perfect encouragement card for someone special.

If you want to see more from the Galileo card kit, including another video tutorial, visit my blog post here.

Today's card came together rather quickly.  There are a variety of stamps in the Hey Girl stamp set, which means I don't really need any other stamp sets to go with it.  I love that I can create a fun stamped groupings in colors that coordinate with that patterned papers and washi strips from the Galileo card kit.  I used the patterned papers to inspire my ink colors for the scribble circles.  This stamped grouping creates the base layer for everything else to sit on top of.

I also used the patterned paper from the Galileo kit to die cut some fun, wonky hearts that are a part of the I Do Stamp and Die set designed by Kelly Purkey.  These were perfect for scattering here and there on my card front.  I mounted them with foam adhesive to give them more dimension.  If you want to add even more dimension and shine, try coating them with some glossy accents.

In the video, you'll see me using The Absorber to clean my stamps.  This is something new to me....but so far I am loving it.  I had ordered it after seeing Kristina Werner use it in one of her video tutorials.  Then I ran out of baby wipes and I was forced to use it for the first time.

The Absorber was originally designed for drying cars.  It's super absorbent and is stored damp.  The product packaging claims it doesn't mold (and I haven't had a problem so far).  I just wipe my stamps to clean them after use (just like I would with a baby wipe).  I can rinse it out as needed and use it over and over again.  It's also machine washable.  But my favorite part is that it is lint free...so no more little fuzzies on my stamps after I've cleaned them.  I cut my full size absorber down to make it easier for me to use and store in my craft room.

If you want a deep clean on your stamps, I recommend using the Hero Arts Ultra Clean and Stamp Scrubber.  This cleaner is great for cleaning of stubborn inks like Staz On or if you just want to give your stamps and good thorough cleaning.

I've included a video tutorial walking you through the entire creation of today's card.  I've also linked all the supplies used in this project below.

If you love the Hey Girl stamp set by Mama Elephant, I recommend you pick one up quick before they run out. :)  Remember, this stamp set is only available at Studio Calico.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you've enjoyed this project and I hope you have a fabulous day!
